Sayif Saud

One of the most decorated coaches in MMA

Growing up in his father’s dojo, Sayif earned black belts in martial arts such as judo and Shorin-Ryu karate, won four national titles (PKC and USKK) and two state judo titles. He then trained under Greg Jackson in Albuquerque from 2006 to 2009, where he went 3-0 as a pro before an injury moved him into coaching full time. He graduated with honors from Indiana University, then went to law school there.

He built Fortis MMA from the ground up and opened the doors in December 2016 with zero UFC fighters. Now the team has amassed more than 20 UFC fighters and 18 Contender Series wins. Sayif coached Brandon Moreno to the undisputed UFC flyweight title in 2023. In April 2025, he eclipsed the historic 100-win mark in the UFC. As a full-time coach at Fortis, he still finds time to break down title fights on the UFC’s own Breakdown series. As of 2026, he has 110 UFC wins as a head coach and is a multiple-time Coach of the Year nominee and an Analyst of the Year nominee.
